Kayl has never been around stairs but when we were at my parents house he learned to climb up them all by himself. It was so cool.
A Story, No Holds Barred, as True as can be of our fantastic life as a young family growing together!

Thanksgiving
This year we juggled two Thanksgivings that were at the same time. It was really fun to be able to see Todd's family and my family. Kayl had so much fun!! We were able to talk to Andrew and Nancy in Eygpt. We lost track of time at my parents house and didn't come home til 6 pm. We had a great time. Thank you Mom and Dad for inviting us.

Oh No!!
I think I've begun feeding an addiction.
See I love nutella and I have now discovered that Kayl loves it too. He was whining because he was hungry and I had the Nutella out because I was eating it by spoonfulls. (I know.. Unhealthy but so good) I decided to give Kayla baby spoon with a bit on it. Boy did he love that!!

What a scary night!!
Kayl had to go to the hospital for the first time last night. I was so scared because he had woken up from his afternoon nap with a fever of 101.4. We went over to Todd's mom's house to use her thermomater because we lost ours in our many moves. After we had hung out there for a while we went home and I gave Kayl some Tyelnol and watched WALL-E. After WALL-E was over we took his tempurature and it had shot up to 102.5. So we packed him up and ran off to the hospital. When we got there they took his tempurature again and it had gone up again. Now it was at 102.8.
They ended up giving him some Ibprofrin and an Ultra sound on his leg because they were concerned about a big red bump on his leg. They thought that there was a build up of pus under it that was causing his fever. Turns out it is just a really painful bump. They took his tempurature before we left and he was at 98.5.
Then this morning he woke up screaming. I took his tempurature and he was back up at 102.8. I didn;t take hi back to the hospital but I gave him some tyelnol and his fever went down. But now it is going back up. Does anyone now what could cause a fever so fast.

2 years ago today...
Todd and I made a commitment to each other and became Man and Wife. We are still going strong. Yes, we have had a few problems but what marriage doesn't have problems. We have worked through them and we are better off with those experiences. We have grown closer together as a couple and then also as a family. We are looking forward to many many more years together.

A very sad day
To many people losing an animal may not seem that bad. I've had a lot of animals in my lifetime and I've helped put a lot of animals to sleep. You would think that I would be used to an animal dying.
The first animal of my own that I ever had to put down was my hamster Gus. That was a very hard decision that took me a few days to come too. See, I thought that he had a tumor growing off of his butt so I got really concerned and I called the vet and asked him how much it costs to make a regular appointment and it cost 35 dollars which I couldn't afford since I was 13. It only cost 5 dollars to put him down so I went with that decision. Later on in life I discovered that they were just his testicles and that he was probably perfectly healthy.
The next animal that I witnessed dying was my little sister Emily's hamster Starlight. Emily was on vacation in California when her hamster got sick. I tried everything to get her to eat and to play but she ended up dying while Emily was gone.
The third animal was my second hamster Penny. She was probably the easiest death to deal with because she died in the middle of the night while working out on her wheel. I was okay with her death.
The fourth animal was probably the hardest of all. Dukie was our family cat for 14 years. I loved her so much. She got extremly sick and had a tumor on her jaw. The only way that they could fix it was to take her lower jaw off which would have killed her. We decided that it would be easier on us if we just took her to the vet and had her put down. We were quite a sight to see all four Heiss women in the room with Dukie all of us in tears when she was put down.
Which leads us to 20 minutes ago when Daxter passed away. Daxter was Lily and Haru's little kitten from her most recent litter. All of us had been trying to nurse him back to health. He started down a deadly spiral when his brother from the same litter was taken to a different home. He got really depressed which made his immune system weak and he caught something that I couldn't stop. I felt so helpless. He died in Chris's lap very peacefully.
I feel like maybe I should go back to school and get a refreasher course. I feel like I failed him. So, this is my list of animals that I have been close too that have passed away. I feel miserable right now. Oh, well I've still got my three big cats.

Kayl's first day on set!
Today was Kayl's first day on the set of the short film he is in. He was so good! I was scared that he would be terrible and that they would have to replace him. He did start crying but the director said that it was perfect because that is the feel of the movie. We were supposed to film both of his scenes today but it ended up getting to late so we will be going back sometime next week to finnish his last scene. I'm so excited to see the finished movie. I'm sad that I only got pictures of him getting his makeup on but I wasn't allowed to take any pictures on the set.
A Day with Ducks
You may be thinking to yourself that this is a post about Kayl playing with ducks but you would be wrong!!
Todd had to go down to the KOA campground on Geneva road in Orem today to mark some utilities when he was attacked by some crazy ducks partying in the parking lot. I just thought that it was funny that he came home and told me he had actually taken pictures of them. Enjoy the crazy ducks!!

I got tagged so I better do this thing LOL!!
Rules: A - People who are tagged need to post these rules and 8 random habits, facts, quirks about themselves. B - At the end of the post you need to choose 8 people to get tagged and list their names.
1) I pretty much drink Mt. Dew on a daily basis
2) I can't sleep unless I have lights and sounds in my room
3) If I wasn't married I would still sleep in my parents room when there is a thunderstorm.
4) I go to the store to buy milk and walk out without it but with other yummy things to eat.
5) I have secret desire to become a voice actor
6) I have the best cookie recipe in the world and am thinking of selling them in a store
7) I love to cook fried chicken and I wish I had a deepfryer. It would be so much easier.

Kayl met the vaccum up close and personal today. He was laughing because it kept sucking his hands, his feet and his clothes. It was so funny to watch.

Formula or Milk?
Kayl has all of a sudden had to transition from formula to milk in one day. I thought that he would freak out when I handed him the bottle of milk. But, to my surprise he took it right away and started drinking it. Well, that was a big relief to me. I thought it was going to a long time for him to get used to milk.
Tooth update: Kayl actually let me look in his mouth today and I was able to see his two top molars coming in. I think that he is getting his bottom ones too but he wouldn't let me look.
Temple update: Todd and I had our first Temple lesson yesterday and we loved it and we can't wait for the rest and for the day Todd, Kayl and I can be sealed as a family!!!

Success!!!
I have found a very new and fantastic job. I will soon start work at the brand new Orem location of Iggy's Sports Bar and Grill. The store should be opening in December so I'm really excited. I'll just be the Hostess so I don't have to serve food or alcohol to anyone. I'm so happy that I found a job again!!!

Out with the bad and in with the good!
I hadn't fully decided if I was even going to vote. I don't like politics all that much. I really really wanted Hilary Clinton to win the nomination. When she didn't I did lose my interest in the election, up until 2 weeks ago when I was fliping through the channels and ran across CNN. I don't remember exactly what they were talking about but I was kind of upset that our country worries more about the candidates personal lives then the ideas that they have to fix our country. It rekindled my interest and I decided to vote.
As I went to vote today I was thinking of who I was going to vote for or if I was going to write someones name in. I was seriously considering writing in Yoda just to be funny but I decided to vote for Obama. YAY!!! GO OBAMA & AMERICA!!! Let's hope he can fix our country.

Happy Halloween
This was Kayl first official Halloween, but really it was his second. His first Halloween we couldn't go out due to the fact that Kayl was 3 days old. Kayl had so much fun Trick-or-Treating. He actually went to sleep right when he came home.
